15th to 19th 2010 - Our climate week The climate week
is the biggest project that we are working on. Through this
week, we want to convince as many young people as possible to put down a
simple gesture for 365 days to reduce their greenhouse gases emissions.
During this sensitization week, we will organize many activities at our
school ( movies, conferences, information stands, etc.). We will also
participate to a few conferences in Quebec city with the intention of
sharing our danish experience to a large audience.
December 23th – New
version of "It’s My World’’ video Here is the new
version of "It’s My World" video, the Children’s Climate Forum’ anthem
featuring Sabrina Chaoui from the YIPCC. She is appearing at the
beginning and at the end.
December 7th – Coming Back Home!
From November 28th to December 5th, we have attended the Children’s
Climate Forum in Copenhagen organized by UNICEF and Copenhagen city.

November 5th - Tell us what you want
to say to the rest of the World!
From November 28th to December 4th, UNICEF and the
City of Copenhagen will be hosting The Children’s Climate Forum in
Copenhagen. It is a part of the United Nations Climate Change Conference
(COP15) in Copenhagen this December. It will bring together 160 young
people from 40 countries around the world to share ideas for dealing
with the global challenge of climate change.
The YIPCC founders are your delegates to Copenhagen. We
need your thoughts on climate change issues so we can share them with
other delegates and with government leaders from around the world. We
will be asking for action on climate change that will create a better
world for us and for generations to come.
November 1st - The Children’s
Climate Forum has its own anthem Danish hitmaker Remee has
written and produced the song “It’s My World”. The song is performed by
Alien Beat Club, a young multiethnic band famous for its participation
in the Danish edition of “X Factor.” Backing vocals and strings are
performed by talented young musicians from DR, the national Danish
Broadcast Association. During the Children’s Climate Forum, which takes
place in Copenhagen from November 28th till December 4th, all the child
delegates will rehearse and perform the song as one big “world choir”.

October 28th - The
YIPCC wins the «Get Reel on Climate» Competition
October 28th -
Indicate the
greenhouse gases emissions on food packaging.
An experimental project in Sweden allows consumers to
know the greenhouse gas emissions caused at all stages of production of
one product. You can read two excellent articles on that subject at
cyberpresse.ca and in the
New York Times.
October 24th - International Day of
Climate Action Today,
is International Climate Day. We invite you to
participate by visiting
www.350.org, an international group dedicated to the construction of
a movement which mobilizes the world around solutions to the climatic
crisis. (350 is the maximal threshold, in parts by one million, of CO2
in the atmosphere that can be tolerated by our planet.)
October 8th - Candidacy in the Get
Reel on Climate Competition
The
4 members of YIPCC are applying at the Get Reel on Climate Competition
2009.
If the team wins the
competition, YIPCC will represent the young Canadians during the
Children's Climate Forum in Copenhagen where 160 delegates from 40
countries will express their calls for action.
October 6th - The 1/365
campain
YIPCC prepares a campaign of
sensitization for young people. We will invite you to put down one
simple gesture of reduction of greenhouse gas emissions for at least 365
days. Details of this campaign will be announced in few days.
